Music and Science from Leonardo to Galileo

The organizers of the conference "Music and science from Leonardo to Galileo" and the Centro Studi Opera Omnia Luigi Boccherini (Lucca) have opened their Call Fo Papers to participate in this conference. Paper proposal (from one or two scholars) are invited that addres relationships between music and science from a wide variety of points of view (pphilosophy of music, tuning and temperament systems, instrument construction, patronage, biography, the impact of science on musical composition and others) in the chronological framework that covers from the end of the XV century to the beginning of the XVII century .
The official languages of the meeting will be English and Italian, and the organizers propose the publication of the meeting in the "Music, Science and Technology" series by Brepols Pubslichers. To participate, candidates must send a proposal of no more than 500 words and a biography of no more than 150 words to the address until May 03.
